Shipping & Damage Policy

At Monet Interior, we take great care in packaging and preparing every order for shipment. Once an order has been properly packaged and transferred to the shipping carrier, the shipment is considered to be in the custody and control of the carrier.

Shipping Timeframes

Orders are processed and shipped according to the estimated timeline provided at checkout, on the product page, or in your order confirmation. Shipping dates are estimates and may vary based on product availability, customization requirements, carrier schedules, weather, freight delays, or other circumstances outside of our control.

For custom, made-to-order, oversized, or freight-shipped products, production and delivery timelines may vary. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate any known delays.

Carrier Responsibility After Shipment

Once your order has been accepted by the shipping carrier, the carrier is responsible for the safe handling and delivery of the shipment while it is in transit. Any loss, damage, delay, mishandling, or delivery issue that occurs after carrier pickup must be addressed through the applicable carrier’s claims process.

We are not responsible for damage caused by the shipping carrier, freight company, third-party delivery service, weather exposure during transit, improper handling after carrier pickup, missed delivery appointments, or damage occurring after delivery has been completed.

Inspecting Your Delivery

All shipments should be inspected immediately upon delivery and before signing any delivery receipt, bill of lading, or proof of delivery.

For freight, oversized, or palletized deliveries, please inspect the packaging and visible product condition while the driver is present. If there is visible damage, crushed packaging, torn wrapping, broken pallets, missing items, or any sign of mishandling, you must note the damage clearly on the delivery paperwork before accepting the shipment.

Examples of acceptable delivery notes include:

“Box damaged — possible product damage.”

“Pallet damaged.”

“Cabinet corner damaged.”

“Shrink wrap torn.”

“Missing package.”

“Subject to inspection due to visible damage.”

Signing a delivery receipt without noting damage may limit or prevent the ability to file a successful carrier claim.

Visible Damage

If your shipment arrives with visible damage, please take the following steps immediately:

  1. Take clear photos of the damaged packaging before opening the shipment.
  2. Take photos of the product damage, shipping label, pallet, wrapping, and any visible impact marks.
  3. Note the damage on the carrier’s delivery receipt or bill of lading before signing.
  4. Keep all packaging materials, boxes, pallets, wrapping, and damaged items until the carrier claim is resolved.
  5. Contact us at info@monetinterior.com within 48 hours of delivery with your order number, photos, and a description of the damage.

We will assist by providing available order documentation, proof of value, and shipment information needed for the carrier claim. However, approval, denial, inspection requirements, reimbursement amount, and claim timing are determined by the shipping carrier.

Concealed Damage

Concealed damage means damage that is not visible until the shipment is unpacked. Concealed damage must be reported to us within 48 hours of delivery.

To report concealed damage, email [email address] with:

Your order number

Photos of the damaged product

Photos of the packaging

Photos of the shipping label

A brief explanation of the issue

All packaging materials must be kept until the carrier has completed its review. Failure to keep the packaging may result in the carrier denying the claim.

Refused Deliveries

Do not refuse a delivery unless the shipment is severely damaged, unsafe to unload, or clearly unusable. If severe damage is present, contact us immediately while the driver is still present when possible.

Refused shipments may be subject to return freight charges, storage fees, redelivery fees, or other carrier charges unless the carrier accepts responsibility for the damage or delivery issue.

Missing, Lost, or Delayed Shipments

Once an order is transferred to the carrier, delivery timing is controlled by the carrier. We are not responsible for carrier delays, missed appointments, rerouting, weather delays, labor disruptions, incorrect carrier scans, or other transit-related issues.

If tracking shows that your order is lost, delayed, or delivered but not received, please contact the carrier directly to begin an investigation. We will assist with available shipment information when needed.

Freight and Oversized Items

Large, heavy, custom, or assembled products may ship by freight carrier. Freight deliveries may require a delivery appointment, liftgate service, curbside delivery, or customer assistance depending on the shipment and destination.

Unless otherwise stated in writing, freight delivery does not include inside delivery, unpacking, assembly, installation, debris removal, carrying items upstairs, or placement inside the home or business.

The customer is responsible for ensuring that the delivery location is accessible for the carrier. Additional charges caused by missed appointments, inaccessible delivery locations, storage, redelivery, limited-access locations, or address corrections may be billed to the customer.

Incorrect Shipping Information

Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping information at the time of order. We are not responsible for delays, lost shipments, additional carrier fees, or failed deliveries caused by incorrect or incomplete addresses, unavailable recipients, or delivery restrictions.

Address changes after shipment may not be possible and may result in additional carrier fees.

Carrier Claims

Damage, loss, or mishandling claims are subject to the rules, requirements, timelines, inspections, and decisions of the shipping carrier. The carrier may require photos, invoices, packaging, inspection, proof of value, and other documentation before approving a claim.

We will make reasonable efforts to support the claim process, but we do not guarantee carrier approval, reimbursement, replacement, or claim outcome.

Replacement or Repair

Replacement, repair, or credit for damaged products will be reviewed after the carrier claim process has been initiated and sufficient documentation has been provided. Depending on the situation, resolution may include replacement parts, repair guidance, a replacement item, store credit, or another remedy approved by us and/or the carrier.

Products that are damaged after delivery, modified, installed, discarded, or handled improperly may not qualify for replacement, repair, refund, or carrier claim support.

Installation After Damage

Do not install, modify, cut, assemble, or dispose of any product that appears damaged. Installation or modification of a damaged product may be considered acceptance of the product as delivered and may limit or eliminate claim eligibility.

Custom and Made-to-Order Products

Custom, made-to-order, cut-to-size, special-order, and built-to-spec products are not eligible for cancellation, return, or refund once production has begun, except where required by law or expressly approved by Monet Interior in writing.

Because these products are manufactured specifically for each customer, carrier damage claims must be documented immediately. Failure to inspect the shipment, note visible damage at delivery, preserve packaging, or report concealed damage within the required timeframe may result in denial of the carrier claim and may limit available remedies.
